Service of Pilgrimage

On 3 October 2021 a “Service of pilgrimage” was held at the Church of St. Andrew, Oddington, Oxfordshire. The service had been planned for July 2020 but was postponed due to lock-down. It was a commemoration of the church being designated as a place of pilgrimage.

The service was led by Rev. Lisa Holmes, who had prepared a series of displays depicting the stations of the cross, designed to create a pilgrimage within the church.

Churchwarden Nigel Lambert introduced the service, explaining how the church became a member of the Small Pilgrim Places Network.

The service, which was well-attended by people from the village and local area, had hymns, a reading and prayers, all relating to pilgrimage.

Following the service the congregation enjoyed wine and food whilst they viewed the stations of the cross.
