On 28 September 2025 the University of Oxford awarded a posthumous degree to Makereti Papakura.
Maoris from New Zealand and other parts of the world travelled to Oxford for the ceremony. The following day they came to St Andrew’s Church, Oddington to present Makereti’s degree at her grave.

At present there are no priests in post in the Ray Valley Benefice. This has resulted in a reduction in services. There is one regular service at St Andrew’s,which is Holy Communion at 10.30a.m. on the 1st Sunday of each month.
St Andrews church is open on Sundays from 10am to 4 pm for private prayer– of course there will be the prevailing restrictions
