Harvest Festival was celebrated on 22 September in a service led by Rev. Lisa Holmes. Many of the floral displays from the previous week’s flower festival were still in place.
The centre piece was a harvest loaf, baked by Beryl Lambert. As has become traditional the loaf is then taken to Charlton-on-Otmoor for their harvest festival the following day.
Following the service a harvest supper was provided in the church by Sue Gosling, Vivienne Davies and Karen Stanley-Price.
At present there are no priests in post in the Ray Valley Benefice. This has resulted in a reduction in services. There is one regular service at St Andrew’s,which is Holy Communion at 10.30a.m. on the 1st Sunday of each month.
St Andrews church is open on Sundays from 10am to 4 pm for private prayer– of course there will be the prevailing restrictions

A unique habitat of rare wetland and grazing floodplain in landlocked Oxfordshire, home to 1,000 acres of nature reserves and Sites of Special Scientific Interest, uncrossed by any road since Roman times. Thousands of visitors enjoy its special feeling of remoteness, sharing this ancient fen with over sixty rare and protected species.
