Patronal Festival
Our Patronal Festival on 29 November was a great success. The church had splendid floral decorations and being totally candlelit the effect was stunning.
The service was led by Revd. Vicki Mellor, assisted by the Rector, Revd. Steve Hayes and Lay Minister, Glenys Edwards.
The preacher, on the subject of St Andrew, was Rev. Dr. Mark Clavier, Vice Principal of St Stephens House, Oxford.
At present there are no priests in post in the Ray Valley Benefice. This has resulted in a reduction in services. There is one regular service at St Andrew’s,which is Holy Communion at 10.30a.m. on the 1st Sunday of each month.
St Andrews church is open on Sundays from 10am to 4 pm for private prayer– of course there will be the prevailing restrictions

Otmoor is one of our country’s great treasures. A unique habitat of rare wetland and grazing floodplain in landlocked Oxfordshire, home to 1,000 acres of nature reserves and Sites of Special Scientific Interest, uncrossed by any road since Roman times. Thousands of visitors enjoy its special feeling of remoteness, sharing this ancient fen with over sixty rare and protected species.
Now our government is planning a major new road that could threaten this unique environment.
